Super suits collide as Michael Keaton’s Batman meets The Flash in new teaser image

September 20, 2021 by EJ Moreno

There’s no doubt that director Andy Muschietti enjoys teasing fans with new details about his upcoming film, The Flash. His Instagram is filled with teaser images from the movie, but none are more noteworthy than his latest.

The filmmaker took to IG to offer up a new image from The Flash, which stars Ezra Miller and Michael Keaton. The image sees the iconic suit used in 1989’s Batman and its sequel Batman Returns, but seemingly spray-painted with Flash’s lightning bolt. Check out the Instagram post here…

Is this just something being used to promote the film in merchandise and ads, or is this something we’ll see happen in the movie? Knowing the crafty nature of Ezra Miller’s Flash character, he’d quickly refurbish an old Bruce Wayne Batsuit into something for him.

If the film is anything like the Flashpoint comic or animated film, we could see Barry Allen looking to change what happened to his mother and shifting the timelines. While the director has said this isn’t an adaptation, Flash messing up the timeline and running into a different version of Batman is all too similar to ignore. Could this version of Flash shift the DC universe to the Tim Burton Batman universe? Will he run into Michael Keaton’s Batman instead of Ben Affleck’s and need to borrow a suit?

Only time will tell, but the many teases of the film from Muschietti are only helping the film’s hype hit astronomical levels. Hopefully we’ll get some answers at DC FanDome on October 16th.

The Flash will see the return of Ezra Miller as Barry Allen alongside Zack Snyder’s Justice League co-stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, while Batman and Batman Returns’ Michael Keaton also reprises the role of The Dark Knight. DCEU newcomers include Ron Livingston (Office Space) as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu (Pan’s Labyrinth) as Nora Allen, and Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless) as Supergirl.

The Flash is set for release on November 4th, 2022.
