Orphan: First Kill has received an R rating for “bloody violence”

The upcoming prequel film to 2009’s Orphan, titled Orphan: First Kill, has received an official R rating for “Bloody violence, language, and brief sexual content.”

For comparison, the first Orphan movie was similarly given an R rating for “disturbing violent content, some sexuality, and language.”

Although Paramount still hasn’t revealed a release date for Orphan: First Kill, we do know the film we see the return of Isabelle Fuhrman as Esther alongside franchise newcomer Julia Stiles.

In Orphan: First Kill, which is directed by William Brent Bell (The Boy) and written by David Coggeshall, Leena Klammer “orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as ‘Esther’ comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother (played by Julia Stiles) who will protect her family at any cost.”
