Gal Gadot to headline Paramount’s remake of Hitchcock thriller To Catch A Thief

January 12, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

It appears to be the week for announcing remakes that nobody was clamouring for with the news that Gal Gadot is set to headline Paramount’s take on the classic Alfred Hitchcock thriller To Catch A Thief.

Per Deadline’s exclusive, Gadot will also produce the remake with her partner Jaron Varsano through their Pilot Wave Banner along with Neal Moritz, who will produce through his Original Film banner. Eileen Jones, who is perhaps best known for her work on the Lethal Weapon TV series, as well as the Michael Sheen and Catherine Zeta-Jones drama The Prodigal Son, has been hired to write the reimaging.

Released in 1955, the original To Catch A Thief was directed by legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock and starred Cary Grant as a retired cat burglar who has to save his reputation by catching an impostor preying on wealthy tourists (including the daughter of a wealthy widow, played by Grace Kelly) of the French Riviera.

It’s another project to add to the growing list for Gadot, who already has Wonder Woman 3, Cleopatra, and Disney’s live-action Snow White in varying stages of production.

Is To Catch A Thief a lesser Hitchcock that you wouldn’t actually mind being remade? Let us know what you think of this news by heading to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
