March 18, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

HBO has released the first trailer and images for We Own This City , a new limited series crime drama from The Wire creator David Simon which examines the corruption and moral collapse which led to the fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force.

Based on Justin Fenton’s book We Own This City: A True Story of Crime, Cops and Corruption in an American City, the series stars Jon Bernthal, Josh Charles, Jamie Hector, Darrel Britt-Gibson, Rob Brown, McKinley Belcher III, Larry Mitchell and Wunmi Mosaku; take a look here…

Based on the book by Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton, WE OWN THIS CITY chronicles the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force and the corruption and moral collapse that befell an American city in which the policies of drug prohibition and mass arrest were championed at the expense of actual police work.

We Own This City premieres on HBO Max on April 25th.
