Zoe Saldana cried after watching 20 minutes of Avatar 2, hypes upcoming sequel

March 20, 2022 by EJ Moreno

We know Avatar 2 finally actually exists now, as actress Zoe Saldana confirmed she’d seen a few minutes of the upcoming James Cameron film. For years, many have questioned the sequel and what it can pull off with this long production, but if the lead actress’ response is anything to by, this should be an emotional epic.

In a recent interview with reporter Kevin McCarthy via People, Saldana noted that fans need to prepare themselves for this sequel. “It’s definitely a leap from the first Avatar, so you have to brace yourself for it. It’s going to be an adventure you won’t forget.”

“I can get choked up just talking about it,” Saldaña added. “I was able to see just 20 minutes of the second installment, right before the year ended, last year. And I was speechless. I was moved to tears.”

She says director James Cameron is also emotionally attached to this. “He’s also a big crier. He does have a very delicate heart, which is why he protects it so much. And I think that he’s able to have an outlet through the stories that he creates.”

The technical accepts of this film are what many were truly wondering about. Could James Cameron add something new to the cinema with this entry?

“Jim was finally able to crack that challenge — that whole thing that you can’t imitate water, virtually, through performance capture,” Saldaña said. “That was just a challenge that he had taken upon himself, and it took him years, and he did it. He did it. It’s powerful; it’s compelling.”
