Harrowing trailer for MGM’s Emmett Till biopic Till

July 26, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

MGM has released the trailer for Till, Clemency director Chinonye Chukwu’s movie about the 1955 lynching of Emmett Till.

Chronicling the events leading up to the kidnapping, torture and murder of Till (Jalyn Hall) for whistling at a white woman in Mississippi, and the subsequent fight for justice by his mother Mamie Till Mobley (played by The Harder They Fall‘s Danielle Deadwyler), the film, which will premiere at the New York Film Festival, also stars Whoopi Goldberg, Frankie Faison, Jayme Lawson, Tosin Cole, Kevin Carroll, Sean Patrick Thomas, John Douglas Thompson, Roger Guenveur Smith, and Haley Bennett.

Based on research conducted by documentarian Keith Beauchamp, who also writes alongside Michael Reilly and Chukwu, you can check out the trailer and poster below…

Till is a profoundly emotional and cinematic film about the true story of Mamie Till Mobley’s relentless pursuit of justice for her 14 year old son, Emmett Till, who, in 1955, was lynched while visiting his cousins in Mississippi. In Mamie’s poignant journey of grief turned to action, we see the universal power of a mother’s ability to change the world.

Till arrives in cinemas on October 28th, 2022.
