Tobin Bell returning as Jigsaw in Saw X

October 26, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Back in August it was announced that Lionsgate would be returning to the mainline Saw series for a tenth instalment in the horror franchise, and now comes word that the new film will see Tobin Bell reprising his role as serial killer John Kramer, a.k.a. Jigsaw.

“What a thrill to be reuniting with Tobin,” said producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules. “His performance as John Kramer is part of the magic that made this franchise a phenomenon and his character is an active part of this film.”

Bell made his debut as Jigsaw in the first Saw back in 2004, and reprised the role for the next seven instalments despite being killed off in Saw III. It’s unclear how he’ll factor into the new movie, although more flashbacks seems the most likely scenario unless the series decides to go down a supernatural route.

Saw X is being directed by franchise stalwart Kevin Greutert, who edited Saw I through V and Jigsaw as well as directing Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter. So far, Bell is the only name attached to the cast, but expect more announcements soon.

Saw X is set for release on October 27th 2023.
