Kitty and Red Forman return in That ’90s Show trailer

November 29, 2022 by Ricky Church

Get ready for the return of Kitty and Red Forman as Netflix has released the teaser trailer for That ’90s Show, a sequel spin-off to That ’70s Show which sees Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith reprise their roles as Kitty and Red as their granddaughter Leia, played by Callie Haverda, comes to visit. Watch the trailer below…

That ’90s Show was created by That ’70s Show veteran Gregg Mettler, who will also serve as showrunner, along with ’70s Show co-creators Bonnie and Terry Turner and their daughter Lindsay Turner. Rupp and Smith will also executive produce alongside Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner from the original series’ producers the Carsey-Werner Company.

That ’90s Show stars Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp reprising their roles as Red and Kitty Forman with Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Sam Morelos, Reyn Doi and Mace Coronel.

The spinoff is set 1995, with Leia Forman (Callie Haverda) desperate for some adventure in her life or at least a best friend who isn’t her dad. When she arrives in Point Place to visit her grandparents, Red and Kitty, Leia finds what she’s looking for right next door when she meets the dynamic and rebellious Gwen (Ashley Aufderheide). With the help of Gwen’s friends, including her lovable brother Nate (Maxwell Acee Donovan), his smart, laser-focused girlfriend Nikki (Sam Morelos), the sarcastic and insightful Ozzie (Reyn Doi), and the charming Jay (Mace Coronel), Leia realizes adventure could happen there just like it did for her parents all those years ago. Excited to reinvent herself, she convinces her parents to let her stay for the summer. With a basement full of teens again, Kitty is happy the Forman house is now a home for a new generation and Red is, well…Red.

That ’90s Show will premiere on Netflix January 19th, 2023.
