December 5, 2022 by Ricky Church

This year’s Game Awards ceremony is just a few days away and Respawn Entertainment has announced gameplay footage of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the anticipated sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order, will be streamed live at the event. Check out the key art Respawn released below…

Jedi: Survivor will pick up five years after the events of Fallen Order with Cameron Monaghan’s Cal Kestis continuing to live in hiding, now with the crew of the Mantis. The game will see players further evolves Cal’s connection to the Force and his Jedi skills while running from the Empire and Darth Vader’s Inquisitors.

A release date is unknown, but has been rumoured to be February or March 2023. The release date is likely to be announced during the streaming event at the Game Awards so we’ll have to wait until Thursday to know for sure. In addition to the sequel, the novel Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars will be released in March. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor picks up five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit as he begins to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy. Accompanied by his trusty companion BD-1, Cal will meet and ally himself with an array of unique and interesting characters on his journey. Jedi: Survivor will expand on the series’ dynamic combat in new and innovative ways. In order to survive, Cal must learn new skills and grow his connection with the Force.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is being developed by Lucasfilm Games, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment. While an exact release date has yet to be announced, it will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2023.

The Game Awards will be streamed live on Friday, December 8th.
