Glenn Howerton and Jay Baruchel star in trailer for tech true story BlackBerry

We’ve had movies chronicling the rise of Apple, the origins of Facebook, and we’re soon to get a film about the guy who invented Tetris, but what about a story focusing on the OG smartphone? Well, IFC Films has just dropped the trailer for BlackBerry, which stars It’s Always Sunny‘s Glenn Howerton and How to Train Your Dragon‘s Jay Baruchel in the true story of the meteoric rise & catastrophic demise of the world’s first smartphone.

Directed by and starring Matt Johnson (The Dirties), BlackBerry also features Cary Elwes (SAW), Saul Rubinek (Hunters), Michael Ironside (Total Recall), Videogame actor SungWon Cho, Rich Sommer (Mad Men), and Michelle Giroux (Black Mirror). Check out the trailer below…

BlackBerry is released in theatres on May 12, 2023.
