20th Century Studios has released the first trailer for director Jessica Yu’s upcoming comedy Quiz Lady which stars The Farewell‘s Awkwafina as the game show obsessed Anne and Killing Eve‘s Sandra Oh as her train-wreck sister, who both set out to turn Anne into a quiz show champion in order to help cover their mother’s debts.
Quiz Lady arrives on Disney+ and Hulu on November 3rd and features a cast that includes Awkwafina, Sandra Oh, Jason Schwartzman, Holland Taylor, Tony Hale, and Will Ferrell. Check out the trailer below…
In the original film, a brilliant but tightly wound, gameshow-obsessed young woman, Anne (Awkwafina), and her estranged, train-wreck of a sister Jenny (Oh), must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild, cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion.
