A new era in Hollywood is beginning as the SAG-AFTRA strike ends after over 100 days. Productions, including Venom 3, starring Tom Hardy, are set to start again.
While the third Venom film from Sony was in the early stages of principal photography, production will pick back up in the coming days. With the massive delay in shooting, the film has been pushed back per the studio. The superhero blockbuster will no longer be a summer release and will look to bring in fans during the fall season.
In an update from Sony, the studios confirm: “Untitled Venom Sequel (Columbia Pictures) – November 8, 2024 (from July 12, 2024) Will screen in premium large formats and IMAX.”
For reference, both Venom films opened in October, with the first film grossing $856 million at the worldwide box office back in 2019, while Let There Be Carnage took a drop but still made a respectable $502 million worldwide. The return to fall could give the franchise its box office chances while giving it new hope post-pandemic.

The third Venom entry is set to star Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Juno Temple. With Andy Serkis stepping aside from directorial duties, the franchise’s long-time writer, Kelly Marcel, will be behind the camera for the next installment.
Filming on Venom 3 was underway in Cartagena, Spain, before production was set to move moves to London, England.
