A trailer, poster and images have been released for writer-director Nikolaj Arcel’s (A Royal Affair, The Dark Tower) Nordic western The Promised Land.
The film stars Mads Mikkelsen as Ludvig Kahlen, an impoverished Captain who sets out to take the uninhabitable Danish heath from the merciless Frederik de Schinkel, in the name of the king. Watch the trailer below…
In 1755, the impoverished Captain Ludvig Kahlen sets out to conquer the uninhabitable Danish heath in the name of the King. But the sole ruler of the area, the merciless Frederik de Schinkel, who believes the land belongs to him, swears revenge when the maid Ann Barbara and her serf husband escape for refuge with Kahlen.
Featuring in the cast of The Promised Land are Mads Mikkelsen, Amanda Collin, Simon Bennebjerg, Kristine Kujath Thorp, and Gustav Lindh.
The Promised Land arrives in select cinemas on February 2nd.
