Five Nights at Freddy’s is a massive hit for Blumhouse—actually, the studio’s biggest film of all time now.
The horror video game adaptation has grossed $136 million at the domestic box office, with an additional $160 million from overseas markets. That puts the film at $295 million after 31 days of release.
The box office haul puts Five Nights at Freddy’s above previous record holder Split‘s $278,754,594, Halloween‘s $255,416,089, and Get Out‘s $252,297,405. The loyal fanbase and warm reception from the general public helped this achieve its massive success.
Five Nights at Freddy’s grossed $80 million in its opening weekend, the biggest horror opening of 2023, ahead of The Nun II and the highest-grossing Blumhouse global opening of all time. All of this while the film was a released day-and-date debut on Universal’s Peacock streaming service.
Expect another night at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria in the near future.
