Exclusive Interview – Nolan North on Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths and potential for more Young Justice

DC’s animated adaptation Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One, the first part in an ambitious trilogy adapting the classic series from Marv Wolfman and George Perez, has hit shelves on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD. You can read our review of the film here, but we also had the chance to sit down with voice actor Nolan North who has a few roles in the film and will be seen again in the next installments. Watch our interview below…

In Crisis, North reprises his role as Green Lantern Hal Jordan from Green Lantern: Beware My Power, though only briefly. His main roles in the film are of Amazo, a super android who can absorb the powers of any superhero or villain, and a mysterious homeless man who shares some connection to the threat endangering the multiverse and guides The Flash on his quest to prevent the multiverse’s destruction.

North has had quite a lengthy career as a voice actor, especially in his work with various DC media from the LEGO DC films, The Penguin in the Batman: Arkham series and several more. His most well known role, though, is of Superboy and Superman in the much beloved Young Justice animated series. 

Young Justice proven to be incredibly popular even over a decade after it first aired and has a unique history among DC media. It first aired on Cartoon Network in 2010 but was cancelled in 2012 despite it’s popularity largely due to the lack of toy sales CN felt the franchise faced. After years of DC fans calling for the series to be brought back, it finally returned on the DC Universe streaming service in 2019 only to be moved to HBO Max for its fourth season. Despite the series having concluded season four in 2022 and no news of a fifth season, Young Justice has not been officially cancelled and many fans – as well as cast members including North and Aqualad actor Khary Payton – calling and hoping for more episodes to be produced.

We chatted with North about his roles in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One, what we may expect in the next two parts, his extensive career and the potential for a fifth season of Young Justice.

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One features the voice talents of Matt Bomer, Darren Criss, Jensen Ackles, Stana Katic, Nolan North, Meg Donnelly, Jimmi Simpson, Zachary Quinto, Ike Amadi, Aldis Hodge, Jonathan Adams, Geoffrey Arend, Zack Callison, Alexandra Daddario, Alastair Duncan, Matt Lanter, Ato Essandoh, Cynthia Hamidi, Erika Ishii, David Kaye, Ashleigh LaThrop, Liam Mcintyre, Lou Diamond Phillips, Keesha Sharp and Harry Shum Jr.

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One is now available on Blu-ray and 4K UHD.
