The Twelfth Doctor returns for brand new Doctor Who audio adventure this March

February 2, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Big Finish Productions has announced a new set of audio adventures for the Twelfth Doctor coming this March.  In Doctor Who – The Twelfth Doctor Chronicles: You Only Die Twice, the Doctor finds himself enlisted into the ranks of the Time Agency when it faces their greatest threat. The Doctor has never been one to follow orders, can he and the Time Agency get along?

The three new adventures for the Twelfth Doctor continue on from the events of 2021’s acclaimed box set, Timejacked!  These new adventures are:

The Sunstrike by Georgia Cook

The mysterious Quartermaster sells his weapons to some of the universe’s most infamous villains and these have seen millions of worlds conquered and billions of lives lost.  His private resort is so well secure that only those with trillions of credits can afford to buy.  It is this security which has kept The Quartermaster free from the Time Agency’s justice, which is why Keira Sanstrom (played by Bhavnisha Parmar) has enlisted the Doctor (played by Jacob Dudman).  Can the Doctor play the part of a despicable villain convincingly enough?

Never The End Is by Ben Tedds

Every day there are thousands of pilgrims who seek absolution arriving at the Basilica of Mariazell. There’s the painter who sees some of the most impossible things imaginable, or the woman who remembers people she has never met or known.  There are also the Time Agents trapped in the town that time forgot.  Though, Christoph Haizmann is one person who will have no absolution after he made a deal. One that is due to be collected.

You Only Die Twice by Fio Trethewey

Whatever has happened so far to the Twelfth Doctor has been nothing he can’t handle.  However, this time it is personal.

“The Doctor is once again swept up in the world of time agent Keira Sanstrom and, this time, he’s been inducted into the Time Agency! It’s a similar mini-series structure, like the one we used in Timejacked! with three distinct adventures that lead directly into each other,” said producer Alfie Shaw.

Doctor Who – The Twelfth Doctor Chronicles: You Only Die Twice is available to pre-order now from the Big Finish website as a Collector’s Edition CD set for £22.99, or as a digital download only for £18.99.
