A darkness rises in first trailer for Star Wars: The Acolyte

March 19, 2024 by Gary Collinson

Following on from yesterday’s teaser poster, Disney+ has now shared the first trailer for Star Wars: The Acolyte, a new live-action series from Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland, which takes place some 100 years prior to the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace in an era termed ‘The High Republic’.

Amandla Stenberg leads the cast of The Acolyte alongside Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss. Check out the first trailer below…

In The Acolyte, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems…

Star Wars: The Acolyte will premiere on Disney+ on June 4th.
