Giancarlo Esposito lands in the MCU, but who will he play?

May 4, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Giancarlo Esposito is going to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but we still need to find out the role.

At least we have confirmation from the actor who appeared on a panel at the CCXP convention in Mexico City. Esposito told the crowd he was part of the MCU but kept mum on who he would star as.

That didn’t stop him from teasing the role, though. The sneaky actor gave a few mysterious clues, teasing that it will be “sooner rather than later” and “better than you can imagine.”

In an attempt to give fans clues, the actor indicates he’s not appearing in one of the many fan cast roles, namely Professor X from X-Men. He will also be in a new role in the MCU, so he is not Kang.

With nothing to grasp, fans have clued in on the “sooner rather than later” comment, indicating it could be something we see in the next year or so. That leaves Deadpool & Wolverine, Fantastic 4, Blade, or a Disney+ Marvel series to appear in. We’ll have to wait and see what the MCU and Esposito cook up.

We could see Esposito as Doctor Doom or Galactus in The Fantastic Four or move to the magical side of Marvel and play Doctor Voodoo in Agatha.

Disney fans will know the actor for his two-time Emmy-nominated performance as Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian series, but superhero fans know him best as the CEO of Vought Industries on Amazon’s The Boys. He got a handful of significant roles upcoming this year, with the actor set to appear in MaXXXine, The Electric State, and Megalopolis.

Check back to Flickering Myth for confirmation on where Giancarlo Esposito lands in the MCU.
