X-Com-inspired superhero strategy Capes introduces the team with new trailers

May 21, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Daedalic Entertainment and developer Spitfire Interactive have revealed two new trailers for two of the heroes of their turn-based superhero tactics game Capes, set to release on PC and consoles on 29th May.

In these new trailers, gamers can meet the following new heroes:

Mercurial – Even before gaining super powers, this lady excelled at hand-to-hand combat and was big on the street fighting scene. Once she started to develop her super powers she realised she had two options: be captured by the bad guys or join the Capes.  Mercurial is able to use great speed and combine that with raw power for some hefty punches, alternatively, she can use it to get away from an attacker in the blink of an eye.

Weathervane – Was an American footballer with big dreams and a quick temper. While training hard and pushing himself to the max he suddenly unleashed his powers and was caught by The Company for experimentation.  Fortunately, he was rescued by the Capes and now fights for them, for freedom and revenge.

Capes is an XCOM-inspired turn-based superhero strategy set in a dystopian world where the supervillains won.  In this world, they formed The Company and banned the development of superpowers. Nobody dared to defy them and those who did so by accident were soon captured and never seen again. Now, the Capes have formed, a band of heroes determined to take back their homes and their city and reveal the truth behind the horrific Enhancement program of The Company.

Players will fight through a dark and gritty campaign where they will be able to carry out side missions and complete challenges to both unlock new heroes and increase their super abilities.

Capes features:

  • Take control of a team of heroes, each with unique skills and abilities.
  • Complete challenges and side missions to improve abilities, but choose which heroes are the right fit for the job.
  • Take down a criminal syndicate filled with vile villains and violent henchmen.

Look out for Capes arrive on PC and consoles on 29th May.
