Fresh from his Road House remake (which already has a sequel in the works) for Prime Video, Jake Gyllenhaal now makes the jump to Apple TV+ for a series adaptation of Scott Turow’s New York Times Bestseller Presumed Innocent, which has just received a new trailer and images ahead of its premiere next month.
The novel was previously adapted for the big screen back in 1990 by Alan J. Pakula with Harrison Ford in the lead role, which will now taken on by Gyllenhaal as he plays Rusty Sabic, a chief deputy prosecutor accused of a horrific crime. Watch the trailer below…
Based on The New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Scott Turow, the gripping series takes viewers on a journey through the horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys’ office when chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich (played by Gyllenhaal) is suspected of the crime. The series explores obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together.
Joining Gyllenhaal in the cast of the thriller series are Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle and Renate Reinsve.
Presumed Innocent premieres on Apple TV+ on June 12th.
