Apple TV+ has released a trailer for the mystery thriller series Sunny starring Rashida Jones.
The series sees Jones as Suzie, a grieving American woman living in Japan who is given Sunny, a domestic robot, in consolation of the loss of her husband and son in a mysterious plane crash. Despite initially resenting the robot, Suzie soon builds an unexpected relationship with Sunny as they work together to uncover the truth about her family’s disappearance. Watch the trailer below…
“Sunny” stars Rashida Jones as Suzie, an American woman living in Kyoto, Japan, whose life is upended when her husband and son disappear in a mysterious plane crash. As “consolation” she’s given Sunny, one of a new class of domestic robots made by her husband’s electronics company. Though at first, Suzie resents Sunny’s attempts to fill the void in her life, gradually they develop an unexpected friendship. Together they uncover the dark truth of what really happened to Suzie’s family and become dangerously enmeshed in a world Suzie never knew existed.
Joining Rashida Jones in the cast are Hidetoshi Nishijima, Joanna Sotomura, Judy Ongg, YOU, annie the clumsy and Jun Kunimura.
Sunny premieres on Apple TV+ on July 10th.
