Arrow Films is set to release the first volume of American Horror Project on Monday 22 February. Concentrating on influential American horror films that have somehow slipped under the radar, the project is a celebration of the genre’s potential to captivate and beguile…
The dual DVD and Blu-ray set comprises three tales of madness from the 1970’s, each remastered from the surviving elements and bolstered with extras and supplementary material putting the selections into genre context.

Malatesta’s Carnival of Blood (Christopher Speeth, 1973) presents a terrifying case of a family searching for their missing daughter in the crumbling grounds of a ghoul infested fairground park. The more introspective The Witch Who Came From the Sea (Matt Cimber, 1976) tells a no less frightening story of a young woman plagued by a surreal and often violent imagination, linked to memories of her personal past. Finally, The Premonition (Allen Schnitzer, 1976) feeds off parental nightmares of child-snatching, insanity and inadequacy.
