Freaky Friday 2 begins production with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis

June 24, 2024 by Ricky Church

The long-awaited Freaky Friday 2 has begun production. Disney and stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis shared the news with a video and image of the two stars on set as filming gets underway for a 2025 release date.

Lohan and Curtis starred in Freaky Friday in 2003, a film that saw the actresses as a mother and daughter who swap bodies and have to find a way to swap back, learning more about each other and strengthening their relationship through the ordeal. It is considered by many to be an early 00s classic and is one of the most beloved films and roles among Lohan’s career by her fans.

The synopsis for Freaky Friday 2 reads: A sequel to the beloved 2003 film with a multigenerational twist, the film picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.
