Netflix action thriller The Shadow Strays gets teaser trailer ahead of TIFF premiere

Ahead of the film’s premiere as part of the Midnight Madness programme of the Toronto International Film Festival, Netflix has released a trailer for The Shadow Strays, the Indonesian action thriller from writer-director Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes For Us).

The film follows a teenage assassin, 13 (Aurora Ribero), who goes against her mentor and her organisation to save a young boy from a ruthless crime syndicate.

Featuring in the cast alongside Aurora Ribero are Hana Malasan, Ali Fikry, Adipati Dolken, Andri Mashadi, Kristo Immanuel, and Taskya Namya. Watch the trailer below…

After nearly botching a mission, Codename 13, a prodigal assassin found herself suspended from further duties. The killer teen meets Monji, a young boy who lost his mother to a crime syndicate. When Monji disappeared, 13 turned on setting a path of destruction to find her only friend… even at the cost of defying her mentor and the organization she belongs to; The Shadows.

The Shadow Strays arrives on Netflix on October 17th.
