Alien: The Roleplaying Game Second Edition artwork and maps revealed

September 20, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Ahead of the Kickstarter campaign set to arrive later this autumn, Free League Publishing has revealed the first snippets of content coming in Alien The Roleplaying Game Second Edition, in particular some of the artwork and some brand-new maps for the game.

These new maps have been designed by the acclaimed map artist Miska Fredman, the person behind the successful tabletop RPG – Astraterra. These highly detailed, full colour maps are designed to the scale for the new Alien miniatures that will also be a part of the Kickstarter.

The maps revealed show two decks of a Nostromo-style spaceship called the USCSS Fidanza and the mining colony Jeremiah VI, both of which will feature in the game’s new cinematic adventure Rapture Protocol. There will also be similar maps of the Hadley’s Hope colony available in the Hope’s Last Day Starter Set.

Alien The Roleplaying Game Second Edition has been created based on the feedback from thousands of players over the past five years, and as such delivers an updated and streamlined version of the core rules.  There’s also a wealth of new content, new artwork and a variety of tools for players and ‘Game Mothers’ to use.

The new Alien The Roleplaying Game Second Edition Starter Set will contain everything that a newcomer will need to start playing, including abridged rules, character sheets, custom dice, reference cards, various handouts and the Hope’s Last Day scenario set on Hadley’s Hope (prior to the events of Aliens).

A new cinematic scenario boxed set, Rapture Protocol, will feature the crew of the USCSS Fidanza on a resupply run to the far-off colony of Jeremiah VI. In a scenario reminiscent of the ALIEN franchise’s roots, this small crew soon become involved in a deadly fight for survival.
