Bane and Deathstroke team-up movie in the works at DC Studios

October 1, 2024 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that DC Studios is looking to pair two of its supervillains for a team-up movie, with development underway on a film focussing on Bat-villain Bane and Teen Titans nemesis Slade Wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke.

While details are scarce and a director is yet to become attached, the potential project is being scripted by Matthew Orton, whose credits include Operation Finale, Moon Knight, and the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World.

Bane has twice appeared on the big screen, played by wrestler Jeep Swenson in Batman & Robin and Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises. Deathstroke meanwhile was featured briefly in the DC Extended Universe, with Joe Manganiello appearing as Slade in Justice League in a cameo that was originally intended to set him up as the villain in Ben Affleck’s The Batman as well as his own Deathstroke solo film.

As its early in this new era of DC Studios, it’s unclear yet whether we’ll see this project come to fruition, with many of the planned projects for the DC Extended Universe finding themselves stuck in development hell before being abandoned. Is that a thing of the past under new DC chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran? Only time will tell, but let us know on our socials @FlickeringMyth if you’re excited about the prospect of seeing Bane and Deathstroke joining forces in the new DC Universe…
