Trailer for horror platformer Love Eternal showcases the gameplay

October 24, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Ysbryd Games and developer brlka have released a new trailer for their upcoming horror platformer Love Eternal, which will be coming to PC and consoles in 2025.  This new trailer (see below) provides a peek at the gameplay as Maya defies gravity and leaps about the platforms.

Love Eternal is a psychological horror where players take the role of Maya, a troubled teen stolen from her family by a forgotten and selfish god. Trapped in this god’s nightmarish castle, players will need to run, jump and defy gravity to escape and find a way back across the dimensions or face eternity confined to the castle with the god.

As players navigate their way through Maya’s prison they will have to face terrible scenes from the warped minds of other kidnapped victims who have been confined by this god for too long and have become a mere echo of their former selves.  There are over 100 screens to journey through before Maya can escape and each is filled with an assortment of spikes, lasers, switches and traps.

Players will guide Maya through forlorn cityscapes, past silent iron age structures and even strange imitations of her own home before they can discover the intentions of this selfish deity.  Don’t be fooled by those illusions of Maya’s loved ones.

Featuring:

  • Hand-drawn pixel art and handcrafted animation.
  • An atmospheric musical score that is both beautiful and unsettling.
  • Controls that provide a challenge but also a sense of accomplishment.
  • A psychological horror storyline that will be both gripping and beyond comprehension.

Love Eternal will launch on PC and consoles next year. Wishlist it on Steam now.
