Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller and main cast in talks to return for Meet the Parents 4

December 10, 2024 by Matt Rodgers

The Fockers are back! Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner are reportedly in early talks to return for another installment of the Meet the Parents franchise.

Having recently returned to lead actor duties following a seven-year hiatus with Apple TV’s Nutcrackers, Deadline reports that Stiller is set to return to one of his most successful comedy roles, playing male nurse Greg Focker, who went head-to-head with his ex-CIA father-in-law, Jack Byrnes, memorably played by Robert De Niro, over the course of three blockbuster comedies.

Directed by Jay Roach, who is on board as a producer this time around, Meet the Parents was a critical and commercial smash when it was released in 2000. It grossed $330 million worldwide, prompting a sequel in 2004, Meet the Fockers, which performed even better, finishing with a whopping $522 million in global receipts. The inevitable Little Fockers followed in 2010, which was met with indifference, but still earned $310 million.

There is no word yet as to whether franchise mainstay Owen Wilson will return, or if Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand will reprise their sequel roles as Stiller’s parents.
