Sarah Michelle Gellar confirms Cruel Intentions return

February 25, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Sarah Michelle Gellar has taken to Instagram to announce that she will be reprising the role of Kathryn Merteuil from 1999’s Cruel Intentions for the upcoming NBC sequel series.

#throwbackthursday (a bit early in Los Angeles) this picture was taken on the eve of production on the original #cruelintentions. Its me #rogerkumble (director) and #nealmoritz (exec producer) and the other is a picture of us now on the eve of production on the new #cruelintentions. That’s right “everybody loves me, and I intend to keep it that way” #kathrynmerteuil is back!!! I am happy to say that I will be joining them (and @nbctv ) on the new #Crueltv

The Cruel Intentions TV series will see the return of original writer and director Roger Kumble, and will follow Kathryn “as she vies for control of Valmont International, as well as the soul of Bash Casey, who is the son of her brother, the late Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Phillippe), and Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon).”
