Bruce Springsteen says fans will “deeply recognize” Jeremy Allen White’s performance in Deliver Me From Nowhere biopic

January 4, 2025 by Ricky Church

The Boss has given his vote of confidence to The Bear star Jeremy Allen White. In an interview with Sirius XM’s E Street Radio, Bruce Springsteen praised White’s performance of him in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere which follows the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska.

Deliver Me From Nowhere sees White playing The Boss during a pivotal moment in his life as he grapples with personal demons, as well as trying to embrace becoming a global superstar.

Springsteen said he visited the set of the film several times and, after initially getting over the weirdness of seeing someone play him, said “Jeremy is such a terrific actor that you just fall right into it.”

“He’s got an interpretation of me that I think the fans will deeply recognize and he’s just done a great job. I’ve had a lot of fun being on the set when I can get there,” Springsteen continued. As for White’s singing, The Boss praised his vocal talents too, telling Sirius “He sings very well.”

Deliver Me From Nowhere is written and directed by Scott Cooper, based on the book Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska by Warren Zanes.

Discover the compelling story behind Bruce Springsteen’s album “Nebraska,” a departure from his typical style that became a defining moment in his career. Recorded by Springsteen alone in his bedroom using basic equipment, “Nebraska” offered an intimate and introspective look into his inner world. Despite its humble origins, the album struck a chord with listeners, reflecting the mood of the era and hinting at Springsteen’s personal struggles. Today, “Nebraska” remains a testament to his artistic evolution and the challenges he overcame on his journey.

Deliver Me From Nowhere stars Jeremy Allen White, Odessa Young, Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, Gabby Hoffmann, Johnny Cannizzaro, Marc Maron, David Krumholtz and Harrison Gilbertson.
