World of Warships update 14.0 introduces Dutch Cruisers

January 7, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Wargaming has announced that Update 14.0 for World of Warships will be arriving on 9th January, bringing with it early access to Dutch Cruisers, Operations with flagships, Bjorn’s Ballad Adventure and much more.  A new video can be seen below showcasing some of the new features arriving with this update.

The most anticipated arrival with this latest update is the arrival of several Dutch Cruisers. Those arriving in this early access phase are the Tier VIII Jaarsveld, Tier IX Van Coehoorn and Tier X Utrecht.  This line of vessels features 128 mm main battery guns with good range, these guns can fire quite effective AP shells, however the HE shells have good penetration but fair less well in the damage and fire starting ability.  These vessels also boast a signature Dutch Airstrike with a fast cooldown and long range but a small squadron size.

When it comes to defence, the Dutch cruisers have good concealment ability and strong AA defence, plus they come with Engine Boost and a Repair Party with a short cooldown.  However, the downside to these vessels is small amount of HP and weak armour.

To celebrate the arrival of the Dutch Cruisers, there’s a new Dutch-themed Event Pass for you.  This event will provide players with the opportunities to earn plenty of rewards, including the Flying Dutchman permanent camouflage, Royal Netherlands Navy permanent camouflages for the Dutch vessels VII Eendracht, VIII Haarlem and the Cruiser VIII Jaarsveld.

Update 14.0 brings more Operations with flagships with separate battle types available for three types of flagships – Incendiary Specialist, Torpedo Master and Iron Fist.  These all have increased HP and provide nearby bots with particular effects.  To take down these formidable foes, players will need to choose their vessels wisely to take advantage of the enemy’s known weaknesses.

Starting on 16th January will let players join legendary sea wolf Bjorn Stormbreaker on an adventure through several fantasy locations.  There are three chapters available with each offering standard missions and more challenging ones.  Those who complete this will receive Commander Bjorn Stormbreaker with 6 skill points, Forsaken Chest containers and coupons for a 20% discount on themed bundles.

Watch the Update 14.0 trailer below for more information and get ready for its arrival on 9th January…
