We may not know the identity of Star Lord’s father in the Marvel Cinematic Universe just yet, but we now know that the Guardians of the Galaxy animated series will be following the traditional comic book continuity.
USA Today is reporting that Jonathan Frakes is set to make a guest appearance in the animated show as J’son of Spartax. He will appear in the March 13th episode where Star-Lord goes missing during an investigation on Spartax, with the rest of the Guardians setting off to rescue him.
“I’m thrilled to be part of another great sci-fi franchise. And I’m also lucky that the character of J’Son just happens to sound like me,” says Frakes, who played the character of William Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
