Ted Lasso officially returning for fourth season

March 14, 2025 by Ricky Church

Ted Lasso is officially coming back as Apple TV+ and Jason Sudeikis announced the favourite and acclaimed dramedy series has been renewed for a fourth season.

The series premiered on Apple in 2020 and ran for three seasons, following American football coach Ted Lasso as he hopped across the pond to coach football to the AFC Richmond team. Over the course of the series, his infectious positivity and optimism eventually rubbed off on the team and everyone around him, allowing them and himself to become better people and face their past traumas.

As of now, Sudeikis is the only star set to return, though Warner Bros. Television made sure to secure Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift a few months ago to reprise their roles should a fourth season be developed. Additionally, Juno Temple and Brendan Hunt are currently in talks to return as well so we should hear confirmation on their as well as other Ted Lasso cast members soon.

Sudeikis teased season four’s story that will continue AFC Richmond’s growth. “We all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap,'” Sudeikis said. “In Season 4, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to leap before they look, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”

“Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fanbase all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion and unwavering belief. Everyone at Apple is thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Jason and the brilliant creative minds behind this show,” said Apple TV+’s Matt Cherniss.
