Online social deduction game Death Note Killer Within, welcomes two new roles with the addition of Watari and NPA Chief. Until now, only five roles were available – Kira and Mello, and L and his investigators. These two new roles both belong on L’s team, making the task of being undetected all the more challenging for Kira and Mello. Watch the new trailer below to see these new roles in action.
In the anime, Watari is L’s trusted handler and assistant and will play a crucial role in the game from the start as he can discreetly exchange information with L via a transceiver. This will provide L an edge in his investigation as should Watari die, the rest of the players will be notified, making it easier to identify who Kira is.
The second new addition is National Police Agency (NPA) Chief Soichiro Yagami. As this character, players will have the ability to call for an emergency meeting and end the action phase at any time they wish. However, this can only be performed once per game and not when a Kira Command Card is in effect.
Finally, new downloadable content is available that includes a set featuring a premium avatar of Soichiro Yagami wearing pyjamas with a Snot Bubble and a Nightcap. There’s the Premium Customisation Track Vol. 4, where players can get a variety of customisation parts and rewards, including the Watari and Soichiro Yagami avatars, the “Japanese Police Set” pets, nameplates, voiced cut-ins and different accessories.
