20th Century Fox X-Men cast returning for Avengers: Doomsday

March 26, 2025 by EJ Moreno

During Marvel Studios’ insane cast rollout for Avengers: Doomsday, it was revealed that we will again see some of our favorite versions of the X-Men.

At the time of reporting, Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and James Marsden (Cyclops) have joined the upcoming superhero epic. Avengers: Doomsday is now in production.

One slightly new X-Men from the once-planned Fox universe is also set for the film, with Channing Tatum returning as Gambit after his cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine. Tatum was once set to star in the original set of Fox X-Men films, but the infamous studio merge with Disney shut down those plans. It would shock many when he popped up in last year’s Deadpool sequel, which fully brought these characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We also learned that the cast of this year’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps will also star.
