Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef introduces a new character

April 17, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Developer The Fine Arc has released a new playable character for their Lovecraftian action-roguelike co-op dungeon crawler, Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef. Accompanying this new character are new audio assets, a character customisation system, gameplay balances and more. Watch the new video below to see Florence in action.

Coming all the way from England is Florence, a woman born and raised in the soot and smog of London’s crowded streets. When her luck ran out, she chanced upon Mr Blackwood and ultimately found herself going to Innsmouth to settle what she owed.

The town of Innsmouth is a far cry from the bustling streets of London, rotting and dilapidated buildings, salty and mildewed air and unfriendly locals. Though this is only a stop off point before she arrives at the Devil Reef. Can Florence venture deeper into this darker side of the world, brave the eldritch horrors that await and find piles of gold? Maybe with your help she can.

As well as the new playable character, this new update also features a new character customisation system, allowing players to create their own character’s appearance.  Additionally, the update includes improved enemy spawning, boss battles, gameplay balance and more.

Play as Florence now in Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef, available now on Steam Early Access.
