Video Ghastlies to bring VHS horror to Steam later this year

April 19, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Katanalevy and Oro Interactive have revealed their new game, Video Ghastlies, will be arriving on Steam later this year.  This new horror title will take players into the dark world of the age of video nasties. A new trailer can be seen below providing a peek at the different eras of horror to come.

In Video Ghastlies, your brother has mysteriously vanished after obsessing over mysterious VHS tapes and it’s up to players to discover where he is by diving into the dark and sinister world of illegal VHS videos.  Each video tape that players will come across serves as a doorway into another, more twisted, world. Each world contains clues that can be studied back in the appartment, however they also contain a variety of enemies that will provide a terrifying challenge.  Find your brother before it’s too late.

Use the TV and VHS player to go through to different worlds based on different eras of horror movies, including the Silent Era Cinema, Italian Giallo films, 80s Body Horror, Found Footage and more.

Video Ghastlies features:

  • Search for clues, solve puzzles and uncover key items to help find the missing sibling.
  • Equip a variety of different weapons and tools inspired by the film worlds you visit.
  • Discover eerie VHS footage that blurs the line between reality and fiction.
  • The apartment is the only place to save the game so find short cuts in the film worlds to find your way back safely.
  • Numerous worlds with their own enemies, puzzles and bosses.

Look out for more news coming for Video Ghastlies in the future. In the meantime, visit Steam and add the game to your wishlist.
