We’ve seen a slew of announcements from indie horror filmmakers and distributors looking to take advantage of Mickey Mouse’s newfound availability in the wake of Disney’s Steamboat Willie falling into the public domain, and now the baton is being passed to Mickey’s long-time love interest Minnie.
As reported by Deadline, ITN Distribution (the company behind Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, and perhaps 50% of the rest of the low-budget public domain/fairy tale horrors of the past few years) has just wrapped production on Minnie’s Midnight Massacre.
Directed by Brett Bentman (90 Feet From Home) and starring Hannah Hueston (Stiletto) in the Minnie Mouse role, and “sees Steamboat Willie’s first mate, Minnie, go on a killing spree when seeking revenge against the childhood bullies who tortured her as a teenager.”

“We wanted to bring the black and white sidekick to life,” Bentman tells Deadline. “We’d see Willie in all these reimaginings, but what about Minnie? Why not give her some spotlight?”
