Street Fighter movie finds its Dhalsim and E. Honda

July 16, 2025 by Gary Collinson

Legendary’s Street Fighter movie continues to fill out the roster of the World Warriors, with Indian action star Vidyut Jammwal (Commando) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Hirooki Goto joining the cast of the video game adaptation as iconic Street Fighter II characters Dhalsim and E. Honda.

Both actors will be making their Hollywood debuts with their roles in the film, which is being directed by Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip) and will mark the third feature film adaptation of Capcom’s iconic fighting game franchise after 1994’s cult Street Fighter: The Movie and 2009’s instantly-forgettable Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.

The latest additions join an ever-expanding cast that includes Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson as Balrog, Orville Peck as Vega, Andrew Schul as Dan Hibiki,  Roman Reigns as Akuma and Cody Rhodes as Guile.

At the time of writing, the only original Street Fighter II playable character that remains uncast in the new film is Zangief (given the wrestling-heavy cast, can we expect Rusev or Braun Strowman to be announced shortly?), along with OG Street Fighter 1987 boss Sagat.

Naturally, we’ll keep you posted on any further casting news, but be sure to head on over to our socials @FlickeringMyth to let us know what you make of the ensemble that Legendary is putting together…

Street Fighter is currently slated for release on March 20th 2026.
