We’re just a couple of weeks out from the premiere of the second season, but Netflix has already decided to add more Wednesday to its slate with the streamer giving an early season three renewal to its Jenna Ortega-led The Addams Family spinoff.
“It’s been a dark delight to watch Wednesday cast her spell over audiences across the globe — one deadpan quip at a time,” said creators and showrummers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. “We’re beyond thrilled she’ll be returning to stalk the halls of Nevermore in Season 3. This time, she’ll unearth more of the school’s sinister secrets — and descend even deeper into the Addams family crypt. Or, as Wednesday would say: ‘Nothing brings a family together like a good exhumation.’”

Based upon the iconic Charles Addams characters and executive produced by Tim Burton (who also directs numerous episodes), Wednesday sees Jenna Ortega starring as the eldest child of Gomez and Morticia, and follows her adventures at the private school Nevermore Academy. A huge success, the first season won four Primetime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and became Netflix’s third most-watched original series behind Squid Game and Stranger Things.
Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends, and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.
Season 2 of Wednesday welcomes back Jenna Ortega in the titular role, alongside Steve Buscemi, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Luis Guzmán, Hunter Doohan, Billie Piper, Isaac Ordonez, Victoria Dorobantu, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, with guest appearances from Lady Gaga, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Jamie McShane, Frances O’Conner, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo with Fred Armisen and Christopher Lloyd.
Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 streams on Netflix from August 6th. Part 2 arrives on September 3rd.
