Daedalic Entertainment and developer gameXcite have announced Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknownis currently in development for PC and consoles. This brand-new story-based survival strategy game set in the Star Trek universe challenges players to relive and redefine the U.S.S Voyager’s voyage home from the Delta Quadrant. Watch the new teaser trailer below….
Blending exploration, ship and resource management, and roguelite elements, Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown challenges players to take control of the U.S.S. Voyager and do their best to get across the 12 vast sectors of the Delta Quadrant to the relative safety of Federation space. Players will experience crew dynamics as they make decisions that will determine the fate of the crew and the configuration of the U.S.S. Voyager itself.
With each playthrough, the Voyager has become a different version of itself, as though reengineered and reimagined from the path taken on the previous playthrough. As well as making some situations easier to handle, these changes can also change the fate of members of the crew.
During each playthrough, players will be able to manage the ship, its systems, and its crew. There will be opportunities to explore and gather intel, engage in diplomatic situations, and navigate the difficult moral decisions that captains are forced to make. Players will also have the opportunity to meet familiar faces, but depending on the decisions made, their fates may be very different to what they were it the TV series.
“Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown is a project driven by passion—both for storytelling and for the legacy of Star Trek,” says Jonas Hüsges, COO at Daedalic Entertainment. “We’re excited to bring the U.S.S. Voyager crew back into the spotlight in a way that feels true to canon while offering new narrative frontiers to explore.”
