Apex Legends: Showdown set for mid-season update

September 11, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Respawn Entertainment has revealed details on some of the new features coming to Apex Legends: Showdown with the mid-season update and the new Wild Iron event. Running from 16th September to 14th October, this new event will bring a new weapon, lots of loot, and much more. Watch the new trailer for the Wild Iron event below…

This mid-season update will allow players to loot the new Mythic Flatline from Rampart Care Packages. Made in collaboration between Rampart and explosives expert Fuse, this new weapon will pack a devastating punch with its two abilities – the first is that every fifth bullet fired does double damage and has an AOE blast, and the second is that it will place a bomb onto downed enemies. Granted, this bomb can be disarmed by a squadmate, but while they’re focusing on rescuing their teammate, they aren’t shooting at you.

There will be eight new Wildcards available, which can be crafted at Replicators. These new Wildcards are:

  • Good Doctor: Revive teammates with additional health and shields.
  • Extra Ordnance: The player gains the ability to carry a single extra ordnance.
  • Gren-Aid: This marks enemies that have been damaged by an explosive.
  • Sent Packing: Frag grenade knockback is increased.
  • Shield’s Up: Gain an Epic level shield
  • Stowed Reload: A stowed weapon automatically reloads after several seconds.
  • Crackerjack: Weapon is instantly reloaded on knock.
  • Down Bad: Enemies explode when knocked.

There are also Legend updates with Mad Maggie becoming more reliable with her Level 2 upgrades. Her new Gunrunning upgrade provides more flexibility in the close-range weapons she can use. Her Fire Ball ability also now drops magma patches along the ground with Mad Maggie taking 50% less fire damage from all sources. Additionally, Seer reenters the spotlight with an increase to his Tactical Focus of Attention and Ultimate Exhibit.

Get ready for the mid-season update arriving next week.
