Ricky Gervais reunites with Netflix for Alley Cats adult animated series

September 14, 2025 by Gary Collinson

Ricky Gervais is set to follow the critically acclaimed After Life by reuniting with Netflix, this time for an adult animated comedy series entitled Alley Cats.

Described as “a slacker sitcom”, the animated series will follow the trials and tribulations of a group of feral British cats who seek companionship while ruminating about the struggles of everyday life.

In addition to creating and directing, Gervais will also lead a voice cast that includes Tom Basden, Andrew Brooke, David Earl, Kerry Godliman, Jo Hartley, Diane Morgan, Natalie Cassidy and Tony Way.

“I play a fat, lazy, rude, opinionated creature with fangs, who’s not as smart or brave as he thinks he is,” states Gervais. “So quite a stretch.”

Alley Cats is coming to Netflix in 2026.
