Starz has released the first teaser trailer for the eighth and final season of the hit series Outlander. Based on Diana Gabaldon’s book series and created by Ronald D. Moore, the final season of Outlander will see Catríona Balfe and Sam Heughan’s Claire and Jamie Fraser beset with new problems in their home of Fraser’s Ridge as the American Revolution continues.
Along with the release of the final season’s teaser, Starz released its own statement declaring “Fans can anticipate tender romance and the edge-of-your-seat drama Outlander fans have come to cherish over the past decade, as the celebrated series approaches its epic conclusion. With a life-threatening prophecy, will Jamie Fraser once again escape the grasp of fate?”
While 2026 will mark the end of Outlander, fans will get to explore more of the world through the prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood which premiered on Starz last month and has already been renewed for a second season. The first season will air its finale on October 10th.
Jamie and Claire soon find the war has followed them home to Fraser’s Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence. With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together. While the Frasers keep a united front against outside intruders, family secrets finally coming to light threaten to tear them apart from the inside. Although they’ve left the war for America’s freedom behind, their fight for Fraser’s Ridge has only just begun.
Outlander features Catríona Balfe as Claire Fraser, Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser, Sophie Skelton as Brianna MacKenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie, John Bell as Young Ian, David Berry as Lord John Grey, Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom, Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Hunter and Joey Phillips as Denzell Hunter.
Outlander Season 8 will premiere in early 2026.
