Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown unveils first gameplay trailer

September 24, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Daedalic Entertainment has unveiled the first gameplay trailer for their upcoming story-driven survival strategy game Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown. With this new Trek game, players will be able to take command of the U.S.S. Voyager and make decisions that will determine whether the ship makes it home to Earth, and what effect these decisions have on the crew.

Did you ever think you could have got Voyager quicker and in better condition than Captain Janeway? Would you have made any of her difficult decisions differently? Would you have got the crew home regardless of the effect it had on the Delta Quadrant? With Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown, you can forget about the ‘what-ifs’ and control the U.S.S. Voyager exactly as you want.

Make decisions to play it diplomatically, or blast through the quadrant with all phasers blazing, research technologies that were ignored by the crew, or rely on good old Federation tech. Whatever you decide will have consequences which could affect the chances of returning to Earth, the chances of meeting that certain iconic character, and which crew members survive each decision. Thanks to the game’s rogue-like elements, each run will challenge you with different situations.

The game also features a deep ship management and research mechanic, and after the ship is moved into the Delta Quadrant, it ends up heavily damaged. Repairs and reconstruction need to take place, and there is no shipyard to help do the work. Instead, decide what to build and when. Construct ship systems, crew quarters, industrial and research facilities, then decide what to research. From tech that boosts the crew’s morale to Borg tech, the decision of what to invest in research is up to you.

When the diplomatic approach fails (should you even attempt this route), then it’s combat time, and it’s up to you to give commands for offensive and defensive manoeuvres. Choose what crew members to man battle stations and what to target on enemy ships.
