Doctor Who: The Fourth Doctor Adventures – The Ministry of Death to release in March 2026

October 18, 2025 by Andrew Newton

New audio adventures for the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith are heading to Big Finish in March 2026 in Doctor Who: The Fourth Doctor Adventures – The Ministry of Death, a new full-cast box set starring Tom Baker and Sadie Miller as one of the Doctor’s most beloved companions, Sarah Jane.

The Ministry of Death is the first of three brand-new box sets of full-cast audio drama adventures coming in 2026, with all three set during Season 13 of Classic Who. This box set features two new adventures for the time travellers, and it’s also ideal for fans of UNIT and the Brigadier (played by Jon Culshaw).

First in the box set is The Ministry of Death, a four-part drama by Robert Valentine. When the Brigadier and Harry Sullivan (Christopher Naylor) use the Space-Time Telegraph to call for the Doctor, the pair of time travellers know it’s going to be for something unusual. What they find is a very strange death, an electronics expert being struck by lightning in his office. This isn’t the only strange death they discover, and it’s not long before the Doctor realises there’s a wild scheme of revenge underway.

In the two-part adventure, The Inhuman Empire by Phil Mulryne, Sarah Jane is contacted by an old friend who knows of her interest in odd happenings and asks for her help to investigate unusual activities at the National Museum. Sarah agrees, with the Doctor in tow, but the pair soon discover the museum is playing host to aliens that the Doctor is all too familiar with. The race is on to stop these aliens before they endanger the whole of humanity.
