Shrinking season 3 announces premiere date with first-look images released

October 21, 2025 by Ricky Church

The third season of Apple TV’s dramedy series Shrinking has been given a premiere date. The streamer announced the Jason Segel and Harrison Ford-led series will return January 28th and released a batch of first-look images which you can check out below…

Season three will have a total of 11 episodes with the premiere being the series’ first hour-long episode. It follows Jimmy, a psychiatrist who begins using very unorthodox methods to connect to his patients, much to his mentor’s chagrin, while having to deal with the tragic loss of his wife and his own depression. Shrinking features Segel, Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley.

Returning from season two is Ted Lasso‘s Brett Goldstein as Louis, the man who drunkenly hit Jimmy’s wife, Damon Wayans Jr. as Derrick, Gaby’s new boyfriend, Wendie Malick as Julia, Paul’s girlfriend, and Segel’s former How I Met Your Mother co-star Cobie Smulders after she guest starred for an episode as Sofi, a woman Jimmy bought an old car from.

The third season will introduce Jeff Daniels (The Martian) as Jimmy’s father and Back to the Future icon Michael J. Fox in his first TV role in several years as a Parkinson’s patient who connects with Paul after his Parkinson’s diagnosis. Newcomers also include Sherry Cola (Joy Ride) and Isabella Gomez (One Day at a Time).

Shrinking was created by Bill Lawrence, Segel and Goldstein with Lawrence and Goldstein serving as writers and executive producers.
