Simon the Sorcerer Origins magically appears on PC and consoles

October 28, 2025 by Andrew Newton

ININ Games and developer Smallthing Studios have announced the launch of Simon the Sorcerer Origins, the highly anticipated sequel to the 1993 hit game. This new story for Simon shows how he was drawn into the wizarding world, and features all the wit and self-aware humour of the original.  Watch the new launch trailer below…

The arrival of Simon the Sorcerer Origins, after more than three decades since the original game, is a dream come true for many veteran gamers. Fans loved the magical world that Simon was in, but they also loved the humour, the sarcasm and the mystery of his adventure. Now, in this new story set just weeks before the original, gamers get to see how he came to be a sorcerer, and how an ancient prophecy pulled him into this enchanting world.

Not only will long-time fans get to enjoy the same style of humour as the original, but they will also be able to enjoy the return of Chris Barrie (English) and Erik Borner (German) as the voice of Simon. This is a lovely touch that adds lashings of nostalgia and authenticity to the game.

Players will get to enjoy a cartoon-inspired aesthetic with lovingly crafted, hand-drawn graphics, as well as an original musical score that matches the tone of Simon’s enchanted world. There’s also a surprise appearance from 80’s music-icon Rick Astley.

Simon the Sorcerer Origins is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac and Linux, and is also available as a limited physical Special Edition featuring an artbook and the full soundtrack (digital version also available).
