Newcomer Tom Taylor to play Jake Chambers in The Dark Tower

Variety is reporting that newcomer Tom Taylor (Doctor Foster) has secured the pivotal role of Jake Chambers, protege to Roland Deschain, in Sony and Media Rights Capital’s hotly-anticipated adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower.

The first Dark Tower movie is set to be directed by Nikolaj Arcel from a script by Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinker, and will star Idris Elba as Roland and Matthew McConaughey as The Man in Black. Mad Max: Fury Road star Abbey Lee is also set to feature in the cast.

The Dark Tower is set for release on February 17th, 2017.
