December 17, 2025 by Ricky Church

HBO Max has released a new trailer for the second season of its hit medical drama The Pitt ahead of its January 8th, 2026 premiere. Taking place over the Fourth of July shift, the trailer sees Noah Wyle’s Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch come into conflict with his new replacement in the ER.

The Pitt follows the doctors of the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, nicknamed The Pitt, during their fifteen-hour shift while handling several different cases and traumas including their own personal issues. Starring alongside Wyle are Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez and Sepideh Moafi.

Joining the cast in season two are Luke Tennie (Shrinking), Travis Van Winkle (You), Meta Golding (Ransom Canyon) and Christopher Thornton (The Lincoln Lawyer). Tennie will play Dr. Crus Henderson, a fourth-year resident who works the night shift at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Van Winkle is Curtis Larson, an aggressive patient of the ER. Golding is Noelle Hastings, a nurse and Thornton will play Dr. Caleb Jefferson, a psychiatric attending physician at the Pitt. Watch the season 2 trailer below…

The Pitt is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.

The Pitt season two will premiere January 8th, 2026.
